How to use FSL in the BIF

 

Is any dongle required?

No, it is not.

Where to find it in the BIF

All Linux computers (synapse[1-14], cell[1-3]). Please note: FSLeyes dont' work on cell[1-3], please use it on workstations (synapse[1-14]).

How to run it

Please open terminal and load environment you need wit command:

1) module load fsl/5.0.9

2) module load fsl/5.0.10

3) module load fsl/5.0.11

Then just type 'fsl' in the terminal

You should see the FSL GUI on your desktop.

You can start GUI for sevral FSL program directly by typing the name of the program with an uppercase first character in the name of program.

5.0.9, 5.0.10 and 5.0.11 (5.0.10 with eddy patch 5.0.11) can be used.

How to run FSL parallel.

You can temporarily force FSL to use more then one CPU core by running in terminal this command (for using 4 Cores):

FSLPARALLEL=4; export FSLPARALLEL

you can temporarily force it to automatically detect the number of cores with the command “FSLPARALLEL=1; export FSLPARALLEL”
